Carpal tunnel

posted 26th Jan
Went to the ER today and I have this apparently. It's so annoying and this brace on my arm is so uncomfortable. They didn't tell me any activity restricitons, just take prescription pain pills around the clock, which I can't even fill today or tomorrow   Ugh.

The only good thing is that SO HAS to help now. We don't live together but before when we'd come visit he still woild just let me take care of everything hands on (I breastfeed so that's his excuse). But he is being good now, and I had asked him today before the ER if he could please volunteer more; because my main problem was always that if I say she needs something he'd kind of just not jump in and do it, he'd wait for me to just do it since I never ask.

Anyway pointless post just irritated. And its really uncomfortable to BF with this splint and type one handed.

I had it too, 3 years on it still bothers me occasionally. I also got tendonitis and thankfully that one went away with anti inflammatory gel after a few weeks. It does suck bfing and caring for a baby with these things, ds was so high needs and i'm a single mama and i cried a few times just wishing i had some help. I'm glad your SO is helping out more, hopefully he'll keep it up.

Quoting Mrs. Reynolds:" Which type of braces did they give you? I have these for mine and I love the damn things http://w ... [snip!] ... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JNNNS4/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00 Ones left, ones right."
It looks similar to those. How often do you wear yours? Its really irritating and I hope to God I don't need one on my other arm too.

I wear them all day if I have a flare up, I've even slept in them. They are really cushioned and comfortable. The first ones I got were from the pharmacy and they hurt like smurf and were hot and gross

Its cushy but I hate it. It just feels like my arm is a board because I can't bend. I know that;s the point but its making me very moody because I need help doing everything.

Ouch. My grandma said avoid surgery at all costs so hopefully the splint helps.

I have severe carpal tunnel in both wrists, as well as rheumatoid (ughhh sp?) arthritis. Definately no fun at all. I was diagnosed with both about 6 1/2 years ago, and both still bother me. I have a brace for each wrist, but only have to wear them when I'm in pain. It didn't take too long to get used to them though, the only thing that really bugs me now is typing with them on, and wearing them at work.
