Catholic hospital changes it's belief to save their neck in

During a court hearing of a case where 2 unborn fetuses died (7 months into pregnancy) the catholic hospital pleaded not guilty and their main defence was 'fetuses are not humans until they draw a breath'.
Funny how when it comes to them being anti abortion the Catholic church's opinion is that a fetus becomes a human with a soul at the moment of conception.
I have no problem with people being religious. I have no problem with people being pro-life or pro-choice or whatever.
I only have a problem with people who change the rules to suit their situation.
If you have a belief then stick to it. End of rant.

The only thing that surprises me about that situation is that they had to go to court about it, I didn't know that happened. I just figured if you put your trust in a hospital (even a smurffy one) you had to deal with all of the possible outcomes.

The mother went into cardiac arrest and couldnt be saved and neither could the twins.

I don't see how that's sue-worthy. People die. How are you going to sue a hospital because you had a heart attack?

Thanks, I read it and thought what a bunch of hypocrites since the babys were at viability at 28 weeks

The mom was having a cardiac arrest and when it became clear she was unsavable the hospital decided not to deliver the babies and save them for whatever reason. I don't know, but the family took the hospital to court claiming they should've saved the babies and the hospital's argument was that they are not babies until they are born.
I'n not so much interested in the case itself but rather them changing what they believe to save their own skin in court.

I don't think they should've been sued however...... it's the cheek of them changing their stance on when a baby becomes a real person that irked me.

Alright so I read the link... I still don't understand why he's suing. It says the babies died WITH her, not after her. Did he want them to rip her open and preform CPR on two micro-preemies? Come on.
