Quoting Maria + Cory = Alexis:" Yes. She doesn't seem to eat often. She eats like 1 to 1 1/2 ozs every 4 to 5 hours. She was like that ... [snip!] ... watch to see if she has the signs of hunger, and I always try to feeding her if she does. Sometimes she just doesn't want it. "
Quoting Colt's mommy:" nursing or formula? I don't know anything about formula but perhaps she needs a different kind?"I tried nursing but couldn't get her to take. I was so worn out after delivery I caved and allowed the hospital to give her formula. I am trying to pump to get her to take it but she doesn't like it

Quoting Colt's mommy:" try getting her to latch on again. That'll keep her quiet, lol. "SO thinks she just hates her bed. She is in it right now sleeping tthough. The only time she did calm last night is when she was in bed with us. However I refused to allow her to sleep there. I didn't care if I got no sleep, she was not sleeping in our bed. Too scared of SIDS to consider letting her ever sleep there.

Quoting Maria + Cory = Alexis:" Last night I brought my daughter home and she refused to sleep during the night. She cried and cried ... [snip!] ... I was worried I was doing something wrong. She is my first child and I love her so much. I just want to be a great mom to her. "The first night is usually crazy like that. They are usually exhausted from the hospital and all the tests prior to being sent home. I hope your second night goes smoother.
Quoting twingals:" The first night is usually crazy like that. They are usually exhausted from the hospital and all the tests prior to being sent home. I hope your second night goes smoother."It did. She was a wonderful baby. She does appear to have her days an nights mixed up though. Yesterday she slept most of the day then got up when it was night. However I wasn't too tired to take care of her. She woke up about every 2 to 2 1/2 hours. She spent most of the night in her crib and some in her bouncer. This morning she napped in her swing. Today she has repeated the process. Been sleeping almost non-stop since noon, however I have fed and changed her three times already. But she is starting to stir now. I figure she will wake up soon and it will be play time for us.

There is no need to keep her awake too long during the day, unless nights continue to be an issue. Babies grow best during their sleep and need a ton of it I just remember worrying about how much my babes slept, which I totally shouldn't have. They are awesome sleepers now.
