I'd get a twin bed. Not a toddler bed.

Yeah. My kids share a room and it's no bigger than that, and we have a train table, a twin bed, and a crib in there and they still play in there

It's tight, but I would want a bed that can grow with him instead of needed a new one a year from now.

If he's already on a twin mattress then I'd just get a twin bed frame. It's not going to be much bigger then the mattress itself.

HA our crib would never fit in there, so baby is going in our room. Hm I guess, but it's not like we can't buy him a bed in a year. I get whay you're saying.. I just feel like it'll give him more room to play.

He's the size of a 2 year old so i think he'd fit in a toddler bed. I guess it depends how much he moves around? My 3.5 yr old moves around a lot, he's used to cosleeping in a superking and he'd wake himself up a lot if he was confined to a toddler bed.

I also plan to build or buy a big bed once we move house (we're in a temp place for 6 months) but we might take my nieces old bed just for now. I see no harm in making do with a cheap smaller bed, you can sell it on so you won't be out much money and the extra space for play is worth it if your apartment is small.

Quoting P.S I'm pregnant ♥1:" DS is 3.5 and we just moved into a small duplex. We plan on living here for about a year and then getting ... [snip!] ... SO wants to build him a bed, but this room is too tiny imo, I think we should wait till next year"

I would do the twin. MaKenzye's room is a SMALL room. Only 10x9 and this is the twin size bed we are getting. It is a low loft junior bed (It's only 36 inches off the ground so not that high   And has the dressers and everything built in to help with the space issue   It's designed for a room exactly her size
