any one that doesn't involve red velvet. Blech!

my 4 yo loves it, i don't understand why.

2 cups all purpose flour
2 table spoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons red food coloring
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 stick butter at room temp
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs at room temperature
mix first five ingredients. In a different bowl mix the next four ingredients. in a thrid bowl beat sugar until smooth, add sugar gradually beat for 3 mintues until light. Add eggs one at a time until fully blended.
On low speed add half of flour mixture then half of butter mixture. Repeat mixing fully between each step.
Bake @ 350 for 25-30 minutes

What exactly about this cake gives it "southern flair" I dont see it... I also have done coffee in a cake and the coffee overpowers any other flavors in the cake imo.
