If you do end up doing an induction, what they did for me because they were worried about rupture is a 'trial' labor to see how my body handled it. I was put on extremely low dose of pitocin overnight. The next morning, they increased the amount so that I was uncomfortable, but not enough to start thinking about pain management. That second night, they shut off the pitocin completely to let my body rest. The 3rd day, they increased the pitocin up full force and my son was born within a couple of hours almost painlessly.
