My 7 month old still isn't sitting up ?

posted 26th Jan
My daughter Athena is 7 months old, just turned on the 15th . And she is still not sitting up . I see other babies her age almost crawling and sitting up and doing all these things , and every time I try to sit her up she just gets pissed off and throws herself back . She can sit up in the Bumbo but thats about it . Should I be worried ?

DD didn't sit up until she was almost 9 months old. She was lazy and still prefers to lay down.

Nah I wouldn't worry. My 15 month old didn't sit up by himself until around 10 and a half months. Now he's walking.

All babies develop differently. I'd keep her out of the Bumbo, though, until she can do it on her own. Swings, bouncers, walkers, exersaucers, Bumbos, etc... all those things actually just hinder a babies ability to learn how to move and develop on their own. Floor time is the best for developing muscles.

Have you tried sitting on the door with her between your legs? When my dd was learning, she hated having to bend over to hold herself up in a sitting position. She'd do the throwing herself backwards thing too, making it so she couldn't sit without support. So i would sit with her and she would use my legs for balance until she built up her muscles.

I feel soo much better , was worried because people keep saying it'll make her mentally behind in development as well . Thank you !

If she has reached other milestones and you don't have any other concerns, i would not worry.
my first child was a super baby, my second child is disabled, and now i worry non stop about my 3rd child. So i know it's easier said than done!
