Afraid not, the Bible is to be read in contexts to its meaning and not pieced together to form your own theology

This. Or, you are actively choosing to ignore what seems inconvenient to you.

REALLY, you use that? Since when was eye rolling mature? I believe once we pass adult hood the seasons of eye rolling fade away.Bashing is a harsh, unwarranted prejudicial act and she was the one to assume my existence is not worthy so there for advanced to say my mother should have aborted me but yet again that qualifies for an uneducated, immature assumption on ones worth.

You should probably find some jesus/god based website because BG is full of open minded people from all walks of life and when we have different points of views like abortions & adoption and what not we either steer clear of it or keep it to the protected threads. In this thread you have no only sounded really judgmental but you have sounded ignorant. Take your ass over to cafe mom or some smurf..

Was it right that she said that? Not necessarily. But did you need to bash her back? Not at all. What would Jesus do? Or have you taken the verse about turning the other cheek from your theology.

Jess, I'm speaking to you now as one Christian woman to another. Christianity is not a religion based on the ability to follow rules. Christianity is a faith based on love, and from that love, we strive to do the right thing. Speaking out against something you don't believe in is not wrong. In fact, it should be applauded! BUT we cannot judge those who go against what we believe. We can't. Because if we do, the world will not know what we are for, but rather only what we're against. Instead of being so eager to talk about what we are against, why don't we, as Christians, show the world what we are for. We can't run around thumping the Bible and using it as an excuse to judge the wounded. Because I've been the wounded. I've been through more crap than you can imagine. And I didn't need someone to tell me right from wrong at that point. I needed someone to love me in the way that most people didn't seem to, someone to model God's love. It was the person who took the time to model God's love that caught my attention, not the people who were so ready to judge me in Jesus' name.

Do we want to change what is accepted in society? Then we must change our approach, because otherwise, we look like a bunch of legalistic hypocrites.

You do not exploit it by quoting it, but by the words you have said to others.

If you are going to call yourself a Christian, begin modelling what the Bible says. Start with Matthew 7.

I am not judgmental, you have no clue who I am and what walk of life I have come from. I am an opened minded person but being open minded is not grasping onto the things you disagree with. Ignorant? I am no know it all but I am not ignorant in this area. Where have you been in the discussion to formulate an opinion anyway?

Just like Yurvette is not immature, nor is she uneducated. You have no clue who she is or what walk of life she comes from.

Being open minded is learning to stand for something, not against something.

I agree with you 100% ! I never once brought scripture but whole heatedly defended my opinion on adoption vs abortion. I had the same belief before coming to Christ. If I did not post a God fearing woman, the Bible or Jesus would not be a topic in the thread. That was the only inclination that persuaded any one to believe I was a Christian. We are all only forgiven by the grace of God and only through faith. My initial statements were about a general topic, later in the conversation did I respond to statements directed towards me personally.

I respect ones opinion and right to choose but I will not stand behind something that I do not agree with. You can love someone for who they are and their worth of a person but not agree with their choices.

Fair enough! Also the same is to be said about your other statements...that's basically what I've said the whole way through.

the woman putting the baby up for adoption decided to keep the baby, but pretended like she was going to still go through with it to get money.

Both women were friends of mine. The one who was looking to adopt still is.
