Help Naming Millie's Sibling

posted 26th Jan
My husband and I have a two year old name Amelia, but she is always called Millie. We're pregnant with another baby due in June but won't be finding out the sex. We're pretty sure we have a boy's name figured out (Walter) but are stumped on girls.

We like old fashioned, classic names- they used to be unique but are really coming back in style. I don't want a name that every other kid will have. Amelia has definitely become more popular since she was born, but we've never met a little girl named Millie, and I like that. Still, it's not a trendy "made up" name.

So the three girls names we like most right now are:
-Elinor (or spelled Eleanor, but I think we prefer the first spelling)
-Rosalie (my husband already wants to nickname her Rosie. I love Rose more, but it doesn't go with our last name as well.)
-Violet

The middle name will be Erin, after my mother. I'd love to hear your opinions on these (but nothing negative, please) and other suggestions for a sibling name for Millie! It was so easy naming her, but it's harder this time around.

I really don't have much to say in regards to help, but just wanted to throw it out there that if we are having a girl, her name will be Amelia Jane. It really boiled down to the fact of initials. My husband wants a Jr., but said he would compromise if it is a boy, he just shares the same initials, D.M. And he has a tattoo of his ex-wifes initials on his arm, that we can't really cover up due to the style of it. So we had to find a name for A.J. If its a boy, we are naming him Dallas Michael. Michael is also my husbands middle name, and I can't think of any other "D" first names that I am fond of.

LOVE Rosalie! Elinor is nice as well, but if you were to nickname her Ellie, it might be a bit close to Millie.

Have you thought of Elinora? Nicknamed Nora? Millie and Nora sound awesome together!

Evelyn is an idea...Evangeline (Or Evangelia, if you like Italian names) sounds AMAZING with Amelia. And the nickname possibilities are awesome!

We have an Amelie (French version of Amelia) and if our son was a girl he would have been Beatrix. Classic and not often heard.

I love Rosalie! It's at the top of our list if this baby is a girl! I would call her Rose as well!

I love Eleanor (spelled that way), but I'm biased since that's DD's name. We call her Ella. Violet is my favorite name at the moment, but I hate how it sounds with our last name so we will never use it. Rosalie is lovely, too! Rosie is adorable.

I guess we have similar taste. Amelia was one of our top picks and will be on our list for the next baby. We were going to use the nn Amy.
