Transition to Regular Milk??

posted 26th Jan
I plan to just pump LO milk and feed it to him in a cup until he is 2 years old, but just in case my supply doesn't last until then I am wondering what is the best option for him.

If I can't continue breastfeeding until he is 2 is cows milk, almond milk, coconut milk or soy milk a better option? My oldest son can't tolerate whole milk so I just worry about what will be most gentle on his tummy, but still providing him with the fats and nutrients he needs. I have at least a couple months until I would have to worry about any transition but I figured it would be best to ask now.

Also, how much milk vs water should a one year old be getting a day?

We just switched DD to cow's milk. Both her pedi and our WIC councilor recommended only 2 servings of milk a day (in the morning with breakfast and in the evening with her dinner), water with meals and snacks, and one cup of juice with a snack. She still refuses to drink from a sippy, so it's water in a bottle before bed.

How old is your LO? Im puking up everything I eat for the past few weeks and I can tell its seriously effecting my supply. Im worried I won't make it through this pregnancy without drying up. I hope that's not the case, but if I can't nurse him idk what is best to give him. Im worried he will get a belly ache on cows milk.

imy daughter get two servings of whole milk a day at breakfast and at supper/before bed...also juice/water with snacks during the day my pediatrician said that she should not get less then 8 ounce of whole milk a day and no more then 20-24 ounces in a day cause that cause her to get constipated

Dd can't tolerate whole milk either so we put her almond. Soy was what we were going to do but after looking into it I didn't like how much estrogen was in it, goats milk was also an option I looked into but I could find any. Out of almond, rice or coconut milk I personally liked what almond had in it for fat and protein, so that's what we went with.

My lo is 10 months and I'm 12 weeks pregnant... I haven't puked but I just couldn't eat anything... I lost 15 lbs. I just now can finally eat. My supply is better now that I'm eating again.

Yes. I noticed after I started taking my prescription prenatals it helped then now that I'm eating I've noticed a big difference. I'm just worried because I am not sure when milk changes normally.

I was told it happens around 20 weeks but everyone is different and many people can continue to nurse through it without problems. Im just worried my supply is nosediving.
