Nystain for thrush

My 4 month old daughter has some how picked up icky thrush  ! I don't know why I make sure everything Is very clean. My question Is what Is the best way to use the medcin ? You have to get both side of cheeks and tongue , what should I use to make sure I do It right ? Iv'e been using a q tip but Its not working the best! Someone told me to wash my hands and use my finger but that's just going to make the thrush worse . Any ideas ??? Thankss!!

Your using the liquid kind right? My pharmacy gives a syringe with it.

I just kind of rubbed it around with the syringe...sometimes i would rub it around with a clean finger.

I just put it in her mouth, also you should rub a little on your nipples if you are bfing so she doesn't keep picking it up from you.

With a syringe in the back of her cheeks, I would alternate cheeks every time I'd give it. It doesn't need to be rubbed and all that, as long as it touches and she doesn't need to swallow, either.

Did you get cream for yourself?

I used a qtip, but we used gentian violet so it was bright purple and easy to get everywhere (and stained everything!). Nystatin always made thrush worse for us.

\Is it a liquid?.... did they not give you a dropper... My little man had it and they gave me that and a dropper and said to put half the dose on one side of his mouth and half on the other side and let him swallow it....they will spit some of it out...... but i kept a burp cloth handy because the stuff is stubborn to get out of clothes.... not sure if that helps at all..... It worked well for my LO....
