what is a normal feeding Schedule??

posted 26th Jan
Baby is 8 weeks old now, weighing in at about ehhh I'd say 11-12 pounds. What should be a normal feeding schedule for him now? We wake him up for most of his feeds because if we don't he'd go 5 to 6 hours at a time not eating, and all he drinks is 4 oz and moat of the time dosent even finish a whole bottle( leaves about a half of a ounce )... So opinions ladies

I feed every four hours.

feed at 8, then 12, then 4 and then 8 and back in bed =]
worked great for me and my baby boy sleeps at least 12 hours a night from being 2 month old

I think that is fine. They don't always have to eat on schedule...every baby is different.

There isn't a "normal" feeding schedule. Feed your baby when he's hungry...he will create a routine where he's eating roughly around the same time every day and every night. I wouldn't wake him to eat...if he can go 5-6 without, let him...if you don't wake him he may take a bigger bottle when he does eat.

I feed him when he was hungry. Which was about every 2 hours when he was awake when he was 8 weeks.
DS is a big boy (11lbs at 5 weeks) and at 8 weeks he was only able to eat 3oz at a time.
I personally wouldn't wake the baby to feed unless he wasn't gaining weight properly without waking him up to eat.

I feed my daughter when she is hungry. I refuse to wake her up to eat. If she is hungry, she will wake up. She had colic for about 2 weeks so that was rough. But week 3, she was already sleeping through the night. After the colic experience, I knew how rare sleep could be. So if she was asleep. I left her asleep.

I would do every three hours through the day, but more frequently during evening hours if fussy (mine cluster fed in the evenings so they could sleep longer at night). Then I would let baby sleep as long as possible overnight! 11-12 lbs is not a worrisome weight.
