Quoting Kelly&Coralie:" Second day with a camera and you have a 'business'? I would advise going to school if you want to be ... [snip!] ... It's a lot more than having a fancy camera and pointing around I like the pics you took. But they look over edited and random."

And I don't have a "business" a watermark is not an advertisement its to protect my rights to my photo

I've just only ever seen watermarks on people with a photography business.

Cause they're smart enough to protect their photos. I am posting mine on public forums, they might not be top quality but I still am smart enough to protect my rights to my images.

And to anyone else browsing this thread I am really looking for CC and advice on settings and editing.

I shot in raw with a 35mm 1.8 at f/1.8 with 1/25 shutter speed and ISO of 640 sometimes 800

CC: personally i would've used a lower ISO. the first pic is a tad bit grainy looking.

Even though it was pretty dark? I read I should shoot a sunrise between 600-800 until theres good light then gradually lower it.

i didn't know the first picture was in low lighting. then yeah i guess 600-800 is probably what i would've used too.

Yeah they were all taken at about 640 in the morning and the sun barely started to rise so it was pretty dark

Thanks, I'm trying to really get the hang of shooting in manual and understanding ISO and exposure and aperture more. I think I need a zoom lens though, the only 2 I have are prime lenses... and I think I'd like to invest in a tripod so I cant capture some good shots of the stars up here

what lenses do you have?

i have my kit lens, 18-55mm.

and a 35mm 1.8 which i adore. i wanted to get an 85mm 1.8 as another prime but way too expensive right now.

I have a 35mm 1.8 which I am also loving. And the I have a 50mm 1.8 but I haven't used it much. 85mm 1.8 is also on my list but its like ridiculously out of my budget right now.

Theres supposedly this super rare 45mm 2.8 pancake lens that is like near impossible to find since Nikon doesnt make pancake lenses.. I read about it in a forum... I'm on the hunt for it but not completely convinced that it actually exists.
