when did you know?

posted 26th Jan
ok, i have two questions. firstly, jess has been on the same sort of routine for around two months (shes 3.5 months now). she goes to bed around 9 and can wake up normally around 5-6ish for a bottle then go back off. lately she has been waking alot more. its driving me mad. she used to wake up for her dummy a few times through the night but go straight back off. lately she has been wanting a bottle about 2 times a night. shes also very fussy in the day now. she will have a two hour nap in the morning but after that i've been lucky to get her to sleep longer than 20mins at a time, even though she is screaming as she is so tired. i've tried giving her teething gel and gripe water, which works for around 20mins then she is back to the crying. any ideas whats up with her? why the sudden change in the sleeping and wanting more food?

sencond question, i know jess wont be on the same routine for ever (which i'm quite happy about as i'd like her to go to sleep abit earlier) but how do i know when she wants to go to sleep for the night and not just a nap? i normally give her a bottle about 6pm then sometimes she will have an hour long nap in her pram. how do i know to put her in her cot to sleep for the night? also how can i get her to sleep earlier? hope this makes sense.

I tried my best to keep my 3 year old on a schedule every night but he had his own agenda. But just keep the routine where she has her 6 pm nap and then lay her down for the night at the same time in her cot. My daughter is 3 months old and I always lay her down in her bassinet for the night between 10:30-11, and her bath is always between 8:00-9:00, she has done good so far staying on a decent schedule even though as she has gotten older of course she has been awake more often with less naps and eats on a different time schedule but best thing is keep her on a schedule and just adjust as needed. good luck!
