Removing IUD
posted 25th Jan
I am thinking about removing the IUD on my own. How safe it is to do? I don't think I'll be able to get to the doctor for another week and I am miserable and 100% sure it's the Paragard.

I wouldn't do it. One week will not kill you.

why? and its not safe. paraguard is hormone free if its that bad id see if u can get urgent care or the Er to remove it.

I've seen several people who have done it safely.
I never could feel my strings, so I didn't want to attempt to lol. But I was so miserable at one point it crossed my mind.

o.O I wouldn't. Wait the week.

All they do is pull it out, it's made to retract like that when the strings are pulled. IDK. I've heard lots of women do it successfully.

It's actually not that bad to remove it on your own. It's designed to come out, and in fact the arms are pliable and designed to fold up if you pull on it. You can see pictures and tutorials on how to remove it.
But if you can wait till monday to have it removed, that's obviously the safest bet.
I had to remove mine, or else go to the hospital, mine fell out just a few hours after they put it in, it was on a Friday, and I was officially having a panic attack. It was either remove it or an ER visit.
Mine was safely removed, I didn't even have to come in to be checked out. The midwife said it was fine if it all came out.

You tube it, lol.
No really, I wouldnt.

I wouldn't :-/
Too scary for me, I would be scared that I would snag it on something, lol

I know some think it's weird, but it needs to come out. I don't feel like paying after hours or urgent care just to have it removed over the weekend. I could wait until Monday, but figured if it wasn't going to hurt me, I could remove it on my own.

I had my husband pull mine out and I didn't feel a thing. They're made to retract and come out easily.

I'd do it. But make sure your cervix is still soft. Most people do it while they're on their period. As long as you can reach your strings and get a good enough grip on it to pull it all the way out, I'd say do it.

I knowa few people that did it, sounds awful to me. Mine hurt likes bitch to put in.i can't imagine it feeling all that great coming out, I'd rather get some meds if the dr will prescribe em,haha

I looked into this and I tried it but that this was soo hard!! I couldn't pull it out.
