Of course it can cause side effects, it's a foreign object in your body. Anything you put in your body has some type of side effect to it.

i know like cramps and stuff but i meant as in an overall feeling.

What would it tear on? there isn't anything TO tear on...

your uterus if its not in place ie falling out or not placed correct because sometimes they are not place correct they should do a u/s at the fallow up to make sure its in place.

Let me know how it goes if you decide to remove it yourself. It's something I'm looking into as well! Mine is driving me crazy

That's not really true, it's fairly common for IUD's to imbed in the uterine lining. That could cause a serious tear. You might not even know if your strings are still out.

Have you ever seen one? It's not like it's metal, it's pliable and made of plastic. It's designed to collapse and come out.

Of course something could go wrong but it's designed to come out.

right but like the poster above said sometimes they inbed and u dont know that.

I think you'd be able to feel that though. And I wouldn't say it inbeds, as much as tissue would grow around it.

Mine was only in a few hours, I'm pretty sure it didn't have time to grow into me.
