so confused

My 3 1/2 yr old has been waking up for the past 2 days crying that his head hurts and very hot with no fever. It's really weird that it's only at night, oI'll give him some ibprofen and he'll be fine in an hr. I just find it so odd it's only at night and he's so very hot with no fever. Has anyone experienced this before?
