Do you think it's sexist that cleaning product commercials only ever show women cleaning?

One of the Windex commercials has a man and a woman making a bet. The woman kicks the man's ass at cleaning the windows.

I'll throw my two cents in too. It doesn't bother me and I never really thought about it until my mom brought it up recently. She just openly wondered why there never seem to be any men (except for the VERY occasional commercial) showcasing these products.

I kind of like the idea of traditional gender roles but wouldn't mind if men started showing off cleaning products or showing skin on game shows, lol (both roles are traditionally female).

No. I think they are advertising to their largest consumer or customer base, which happens to be women.

Nah, I mean, when men are the ones most likely to be stay at home parents and househusbands and whatever, I'm sure the advertising will change.

thats so weird I wondered the same thing recently. we were watching something and i said kind of in a complaining tone that they dont have men cleaning in the commercials and my husband said "because they r not trying to sell the product to me, thats why they dont show women in lawnmower or snowblower commercials"
