Endometriosis and TTC

posted 25th Jan
Hi folks!

Are there any members here who suffer from endometriosis? Did you have a hard time TTC/conceiving and do you have any advice to offer me? My boyfriend and I have been thinking that 2013 would be our year to TTC so I am thinking of having a lap done in hopes it will increase my chances of conceiving quickly.

I'm just wondering if anyone here has been through it and can offer me any advice or support.

Thanks!

get the lap done. it's best thing I ever did. then you have to wait about 4-6 weeks heal. then start trying. my ob/gun gave me Clomid to help but It was on bk order so while waiting I did the clearblue ovulation test got the smiley face and started tryin.. bang I'm pregnant and I only have one work in tube. I feel extremely lucky. so yes get the lap it's best chance to conceive

I didn't have any problems either time. But if you are overweight, it may be harder.

I did the lap and dye test and did a round of lupron. After lupron they gave me something to make my period come back so i could start clomid. Conceived dd on 2nd round of clomid. 3 years later and am due in april and didn't have any help with conceiving. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your advice everyone! I need to find a new doctor before I can have the lap done because my doctor doesn't believe in endometriosis (pretty stupid!)

I'm also concerned about what to do afterward, assuming I am able to get pregnant and give birth, because my periods are extremely painful.

I personally feel that I might have sciatic endometriosis because shortly before my period I am in debilitating pain and often have sharp, shooting pain from my back down my leg. It's awful.

Ideally, I'd like to have a hysterectomy but I know the chances of any doctor performing that surgery on me is slim to none. Any suggestions? I'd like to end my period preferably permanently if possible because every single time I have a period I'm in so much pain that I can't do anything.

Thanks so much guys!

I had bad endometriosis all over... I had the long horrible wanna knock yourself out cramps n 8 day periods.. try the lap before a hysterectomy especially when you want a baby.... after my lap and before getting pregnant the cramps were not bad at all.

I would definitely try the lap before considering a hysterectomy and get a new ob/gyn for sure! :-)

I hope you have better luck than me. I am about to have my 3rd lap and I've only had endo for 3 yrs. My period pain never got better after my first 2. I've also tried continuous bc where I don't get a period but obviously you can't get preggo. I tried chlomidfor 6 months then did 5 IUIs after my 2nd lap and they didn't work. Unfortunately I've discovered my only option if I wanna get preggo is to have surgery once a year. Sorry if I'm discouraging but endo is rough but it's still not impossible to get preggo especially if you have regular periods

No, no, it's totally okay. I need as much advice as I can get!
