What would you do?

I have had my IUD (paragard) for almost 5 years but ever since I got it I have been getting yeast infections and BV ALL the time. When I say all the time, I have an infection at least every other month. I was treated for BV in Oct, the antibiotics gave me a yeast infection, I had another yeast infection in Dec, and it is now back AGAIN. I am allergic to 3 out of the 4 medications I have been prescribed for BV. But the problem is that if I get any other birth control, I cannot handle it as it makes me extremely depressed and other bad side effects.

I need some kind of birth control, I don't even want anymore children! But since I'm just 22 and with only 1 child, doctors won't do anything permanent. Would you take it out and use condoms? Which btw always irritate me and make me dry down there....Or would you stick it out?

I had the same problem. Except I was on Mirena.
DH got a vasectomy,

Use condoms. If they make you dry use some lube too. That beats the hell out of getting BV and yeast infections all the time! Condoms aren't exactly romantic but neither is a screaming bundle of joy  

If it were me I'd get it taken out and use condoms and lots of lube

Uugh...my "SO" doesn't have any kids and mentioned something about trying in 2 years...him getting a vasectomy is probably completely out of the picture  

And I don't even think he understands how serious I am about not wanting more kids.

Haha that is very true! I'm just so scared of getting pregnant. I got pregnant with my DS while changing BC, I had just stopped using the ring the get on the pill and yeah...that never happened lol

At least you're serious about birth control though. I see a lot of women who swear up and down they don't want another kid only to see a baby announcement on Facebook a few months later. Apparently they didn't figure out a plan for not having anymore children.

Also, I don't have any experience with "female condoms" but have you ever used one of those before? Or maybe some spermicides?

I'm dead serious about it! If I could do something permanent, I would.

I never tried the female condom, maybe I'll look into it. I don't like the idea of spermicides and the fact that it's not as effective.

Yeah, I never tried spermicides because they're not even near 100% but if you use it in addition to another form of birth control your chances of not getting knocked up improve tenfold.... I think... lol. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

That makes sense, I'm going to do some research now lol
