another c-section from induction...

I've read over and over and over on here about mom's being induced and then needing a c-section. My friend and I were only 3 weeks apart. She went 40w1d and got induced today. Started at 6am cervadil, and then 5pm start pitocin. Ended in a c-section. This makes 4 people I know personally where this has happened. And then the countless on BG. It scares me because I'm afraid of going over due. And at the same time I've had this bad feeling the entire time I've been pregnant it'd end in a c-section...

My friends baby was born tonight, Januray 25th 2013
6lbs 13oz, healthy little baby boy Named Damon :3 made me very excited no matter how I deliver to meet my baby girl.

I went overdue and it wasn't bad. Its uncomfortable, but not unbearable. I had my first at 41 weeks, and y second at 40w3d.

Love that name.   congrats to her!

Going "overdue" isn't a bad thing. It's a finite process, baby has to come out at some point. You never have to agree to an induction.

I heard horror stories about the placenta aging. It's my first so I don't know what to expect thanks though that makes me feel better I'm not so much worried about being uncomfortable.

I love that name too! We've been 3 weeks apart, and she finally had him. Made me realize how close I was as well! She looks so happy! And he's so tiny  !

when induced with pitocin the pitocin makes the contractions hurt more so generally women get an epidural wich epidurals have been known to slow down labor causing them to use more pitocin and then sometimes another epi. then by that time the baby is in distress like ok here we go oh wait no we stopped again lol.. thats usually why they have c sections  .. and congrats on your frinds baby  

my mama went to almost 43 weeks, had a vag birth just fine. you can refuse an induction. simply being over due isn't reason enough

Thanks, and I've heard both that epi's speed up and slow down labor depending. Like I said I don't mind going over due. Just scared of some reason, that I may need to be induced. Or even not induced that I'll end up in a c-sections doctors around here are scalpel happy it seems.

I just had my second son at 40w 6 days.
You van refuse an induction. Being over due is not a medical emergency.

Course not. I know that. SO was 3 weeks late when he was born and 10lbs and she did natural vaginal birth. I'm not saying I'm going to opt to be induced. Just freaks me out. Here they wont let you go past 42.

lol are they too posh to push haha.. well i hope you have the delivery you want and have a happy healthy baby and self  ... and i didnt know epis sped it up too... i didnt mean to give semi false info.. :/

You didn't I've just read about women where it calmed them down and helped relieve tension and helped them dilate I've also read contrary to that.

My doc will not let me go past 40 weeks and I wouldn't either the baby just gets bigger and the placenta is not doing its job after that not everyone has c sections dnt be scared hopefully u go on ur own just like I'm hoping I do too good luck

you can refuse to be induced. they may monitor you a bit more to make sure everything is still going ok in there, but do not be afraid to go overdue. my aunt went over her due date by three weeks.

Yeah like I said though they don't allow women to go overdue. I'm wondering if I can still refuse I think my OB would drop me lol.
