Cloth Diapers

posted 25th Jan
I was just wondering what were the pros and cons to cloth diapers? I am trying to find ways to save money.

Pretty much this. I dont even see washing as a con because now I dont have to take diapers to the trash or anything.

I wash so much laundry anyway having 2 toddlers a husband and myself, so it really makes no difference

I say con as washing because not everyone has a washer and dryer, and it can get spendy to run that many loads.

pros: cheaper in the end and super cute
cons: they tend to smell up your laundry room and add tons to your washing

No, and no.
If you store them correctly with open containers, there is no smell.
Adding one more load, isn't "tons" IMO.

This. I keep my wet bag hanging on the back of a dining room chair where the changing tabel is. It never stinks up the place. I was every 2-3 days and I was at night before bed throw in the dryer when I wake up and diapers are done.

I would say one of the cons of cloth diapering is the learning curve. I think it takes some good trial and error to figure out what really works fur you.
And another con could be acceptance by other caretakers. My husband was very slow to accept it. He didn't care that I used them, but I found that when he was home with the kids all day, there would only be one dirty diaper, and that was the one on her butt. Like he would only put one on if he knew I would be the one to change it. My mother in law is even worse. She will pick dd up in a cloth diaper, then take her to their house and put a disposable on her. She always comes home with a dry diaper in a plastic bag.
