Starting to understand..

Sorry being a total post whore tonight, but I'm understanding the issue people have with others using the ER for no freaking reason. My sister (19) is on Medicaid so see's no issue with going to the ER for all of her medical issues. I thought she was finally understanding that she could go see a regular dr but I guess I was wrong. She POAS earlier at my house and it was positive. 2 dark lines clear as day. She was in total denial 'no it's not' 'the test is wrong', etc. So her and her bf left and I told her she needs to stop smoking, take a prenatal, tell her bf's parents (they live with them) and that we will look for drs accepting Medcaid on Monday. She ended up going to her friends and taking a cheap dollar store test maybe 2 hours (if that) after taking one at my house. She called and said the one she took here had to be wrong because the one she just took was only a faint positive. So i'm trying to explain to her that a positive is a positive and the only reason that one was faint is because she had JUST taken a test at my house so she had to be a few months along for it to pick up the hormone on the second test. I asked her when her last AF was and it was the beginning of Dec so I did an online EDD thing and it put her at 8 weeks. She still won't believe me so now she is going to go to the ER (instead of making an appt with a dr or planned parenthood) so they will give her a blood test and tell her how far along she is   I told her they are going to tell her the same thing I did and it's pointless to go to the ER since that's for people in need of serious medical attention, NOT someone refusing to believe her at home pregnancy test result.

Maybe she's just scared? I understand it's annoying and yes people use the ER for very stupid ass reasons, but she may be in such complete denial and so scared that she has to find out "right now".

I understand that she's scared. I mean she didn't finish HS, doesn't have a job, license and her bf just got out of prison a few months ago (they've been dating for like a month) and has another kid but she's not even going tonight. She's waiting until tomorrow so I told her to go to planned parenthood or urgent care or something but she's dead set on the ER for some reason.
