Questions to ask new sitter?
posted 25th Jan
DNQ.
DH's boss' wife babysat the girls whenever we needed a sitter. I'm a SAHM, but I get a sitter once a week to run errands and have some me time.
She recently got diagnosed with breast cancer, and is not watching kids anymore.
I don't know how to go about finding a new sitter, or what questions to ask.
Any help, or advice on questions I should ask?
TIA!

I found out date night sitter on care.com. It was $35 for the month and I interviewed 3 people in person. I asked about their rates their qualifications, if they were first aid/cpr. I watched how they interacted with my kids during the interviews. I gave them scenarios and asked how they would handle it.
EX: You are cooking dinner but the baby wants attention and is just screaming and crying how do you handle it. Thats something I deal with daily and I want to know their natural instinct or if they kinda look to me for what i expect them to do. I asked about discipline. I asked about their comfort level with getting two children ready for bed (infant and toddler). Things they would do with the kids, games and activities. If they felt comfortable cooking.
