The pitocen speeds up your labor so the contractions come closer together which might make them seem more painful then if they're to gradually come on their own.

Did they have to reverse the epidural so you could feel to push? They had to with my mother and she went basically natural but that was 22 years ago so idk if it changed

Lol uhh pressure during childbirth=pain. So yes they are the same. Op don't be scared if the epidural ends up wearing off, you will be fine. Mine was pretty much only helpful during my contractions because I could feel everything while pushing. The pain doesn't last forever, just remember that during labor.

I had mine topped up about 8 times during the 10 hours, they'd made me lie on the bed strapped to monitors for 3 days before I went into labour, I wanted a natural waterbirth with gas and air and got ALL the drugs.

I was induced and feel like it all went wrong because Max wasn't really and he was rushed out and got stuck because I was lying on my back!!

I only had enough epi to stop the spontaneous pushing coz it was affecting my boys heart rate because I wasn't fully dilated. I labored without pain relief until I had to have the small dose of epi. And I can tell you that it was 1000 times harder to push with even that small amount of the epi in my system. I wish I could have said no but the spontaneous pushing would have caused my cervix to swell and his heart rate to drop so they made me have it.
