31-34 week premie moms!

posted 25th Jan
So I am in the hospital with pre-e(hopefully going home if this 24 hour collection shows it not too bad) and having contractions.

I got the first steroid shot for his lungs and the ultrasound showed him "practicing" breathing and that he weighs about 4 pounds. He passed with flying colors but I was just wondering if its severe enough we have to deliver before 34 weeks what kid of ride am I in for?

I had my youngest at 35 weeks but she had no problems at all an came home with us. This hospital has a great nicu and we won't be separated by hospitals unless its something severe with either of us.

Just want to hear some stories please?!

Glad she is doing good!

I want to breast feed and I wonder how that will work if she is in nicu?

Ok but I could more than likely at least try and get her to learn to suck? I worry about not being able to ebf if I have him early :-(

Yeah this place says they will do everything they can to help us ebf.

I just worry since I am having a c section then I won't be able to travel back and forth. But we will make it work!

They did the ultrasound and saw him practicing breathing and we all breathed a sigh of relief!

I got immediate skin to skin with my youngest(csection at 35 weeks) then they cleaned her up and brought her I recovery and I got I breast feed her for an hour then they took her to the nursery so I could rest and then I saw her later that night cause they found out she had some fluid on her lungs.

i got to hold her in the OR for a few minutes but then they had to take her to the nicu and my hospital makes you have 8 hours of bed rest after a section.

Oh ok. Yeah if I have to stay I will be making them tell me what is allowed and what's not etc. since if I stay it will be until delivery

Yeah I am just scared because of how it went to 450 from 178 only just under two weeks ago. :-( I can't imagine what it would do just in just a few days.

Mine were 34 weekers. One had CPAP for about 36 hours. The other had no breathing issues at all. They had NG tubes while they practiced nursing. Released from NICU on day 14 breastfeeding with nipple shields to help latch.
