re: FIL won't call our daughter by her name

I would start calling him by his other name and insist that other family members do the same. Maybe he'll eventually get the hint.

Zofia is a legit name. It's Polish.

I call my Chloe, Chlosapher....lol Like Christopher but with an A in the O spot.

Its beautiful but I am half Polish so the name appeals to me.  

I wouldn't be upset, but I would be confused as to why he'd agree to Zofia as the first name if he clearly doesn't like it. She's only 2 months, I mean if it's really that troubling, you can always change it.

Why should a FIL have any say in a childs name?

It doesn't bother my husband "so he says" but I think he's just intimidated by his dad and doesn't wanna start anything cause his parents are nothing but drama!!! His dad pretty much harassed me about if we had a boy I was to name him James... He knows FULLY well our daughters name is cause my MIL calls her Zoey but gets corrected by him to call her Doris.. I talked to my husband and he supports me in saying something but I can tell he's nervous about starting something. We did send him a msg explaining everything as nice as I could and haven't heard back... So we will see
