So my 9 month old son was taking a nap and i was out in the living room when i heard a loud "thump" followed by crying and i ran in and he was on the floor... and his crib is lowered. He cried for about 2 minutes then got down on the floor and crawled away... hes been acting fine/eating fine since it happened... should i be concerned? should i take him to the drs or no? is there any signs i should look for to indicate something wrong? my mom and my mother in law are both saying hes fine and not to worry but i cant help but to be concerned...

Sounds like hes fine. Kids are rough things. If he acts out of normal, then I would take him in.

He climbed out of his crib?
You're in trouble with that one

He sounds fine though!

When I was little my mom told me I used to climb/jump out of my crib all the time when it was up. She said she would have to put a piece of paneling on top and tie it down just because I would do it so much. Kids are tough.

OP, do you live here in the states? Your location on your profile says Japan, and I know that is a default location when you sign up on this site.

I didn't think you did live in Japan   .. I just thought I would inform you that the side drop cribs have been banned in the United States on account of how dangerous they can be for babies.

Oh, it's a side drop crib?
I was wondering how he could climb over the rail lol.

Yeah, OP. I'd look into getting a new crib, those can/have killed babies.

That was just the impression I got from her OP where it says, "And the crib was lowered."

I just thought I would let her know the dangers of those cribs if she wasn't aware of them yet.

Oh, I know you were.. I was just letting you know what made me think it was a drop side.

The lowered mattress thought didn't even cross my mind.

Yikes! Im sure he will be fine! I just don't know what you are going to do about getting him to NOT try to climb out

We lowered our sons mattress all the way down when he could stand up and he hasn't tried to climb out at all since and he's 13 months now.

Good luck!

My little man did the same at like 3 in the morning and i was so confused! If you have like teddies and that or a cot bumper take them out or switch the bumper to the side next to the wall I think he managed to stand on something and lean over a tad to far but he only cried for a minute or so and the was normal!

He'll be okay It's flipping scary though
