Staying cool in the heat...

posted 7th Jun
Come on ladies, let's compile some tips here...

I live in NH, so it's just barely getting hot here, but it was in the 90s today and I have been in one hell of a funk! The only time I've been happy is sitting butt-naked in the a/c!

Help me out here...How's a pregnant mama to keep cool??

I don't envy you...

We went from nice and cool to hot and humid over night...I think I'm in shock...

But seriously...That's kind of a tip in the opposite direction...

I live in Savannah, GA.. The humidity is rediculous.. then the heat.. Then it fells a helluva lot more hot that the temp's actually reading. Oh lord.
I eat popsicles & swim in my pool.. if I'm not doing those. . I'm sitting in my room.. door closed, lights off.. ceilingfan on.. & my little fan running. lol. Overkill.

I feel your pain! I decided to go out on the boat all day yesterday (32 weeks) and got so burned! So now I am hot from the weather and the burn. Plus I never had on of the guys in my offce but the AC in my window...so I am stuck here with a little fan and it like 95 outside. Water time....

Oh...I can see Friendly's from my office window (yeah the one with no AC in it haah) thinking I should go over there....

It's been in the mid 90's here for about the last week and a half! It's only June, this is August weather! lol Our central air is out and can't be fixed so I sent hubby out to get a couple of air conditioners we had stored at my Mamas. We put the bigger one in our living room and the smaller on in our bedroom and it pretty much cools our trailer. One of the benefits of living in a mobile home I guess. I just worry about the air conditioner being in our bedroom when Caiden will be sleeping in our room when he comes.

Swimming is the best! I went to the pool once and to the lake once (before I heard that we shouldn't swim in the lake so close to delivery) and I want to go to the pool again before the baby is here.

This weekend also we bought a small air conditioner for the bedroom which has completely saved my life! Before that we had the big one in the living room but the air didn't circulate well enough to go through the doors and the fans just weren't good enough.

My sister has been working in India for the last year and in the summer she would sleep under damp sheets with a fan going and the windows open.

Of course, I'm sitting here sweating from even my elbowsin my air-conditioned office so there's kind of no remedy for these hot flashes. Maybe a cold shower later?

well I live in Texas and its insanely Hott here. We have been in the 90's for a month already and it was 99 a week ago. Serioulsy its so hott and humid that you break a sweat just walking to your car (thats parked in your driveway!!!)I try to stay indoors as long as possible. And I keep my air down low and the fans on. And when I know ill have to leave the house Ill takea pop cicle with me to help keep me cooler. Oh and I always have a COLD water with me and im about to get one of those hand held fans too.......

You figure since ive been here all my life id be used to it...BUT IM NOT. The weather is so extreme here that you never really get used to it.
