Need some advice ( Autistic )

posted 25th Jan
My 11 yr daughter is Autistic. Today I got a phone call from her teacher stating she forgot to bring her agenda today, and because of that, she was not allowed to participate in "lunch bunch" today. Lunch bunch is where they get to eat lunch in the classroom and watch a movie for a little bit. But because she forgot her agenda, she had to eat in the lunch room. So she acted out, and became a little loud. The teacher said she screamed and cried ( they were able to calm her down ) . The teacher then and told me she's been a little on edge all week. So the teacher asked me if anything was going on at home. I informed her nothing bad was going on, but she has been on edge at home as well lately. I've had to take away privileges at home, because she won't listen, and gives me huge attitude.

I know that she's going through changes. She's developing, and her clothes are getting tighter, and feet are growing ( Growth spirt ). She's complaining of breast soreness and leg cramps. So I know she's going through some changes, but I can't just let her get her way.

How do I handle this?

And please keep NEGATIVE comments to yourself

Maybe she's getting ready to have a period. I did at 11. Maybe extra hormones are why she's so edgy. Or maybe there's some bullying going on and teachers haven't picked up on it yet.

I hope it's just hormones. I've asked if she's being bullied at school, and she says she's not

I would agree with the idea she is changing physically and emotionally because of her age. Maybe try to talk to her and feel out what's going on. Maybe there is something going on at school. Also she may need some extra help remembering stuff still and that would avoid the negative discipline at school. She's still a little girl.

I remind her and check her back pack, I might have missed it this morning
