Just need to vent

I'm so fed up with my daughters dad. She's 13 mos, and isn't under his navy insurance yet. It's should have happened MONTHS ago. He puts off everything for her, yet he can go get massages monthly, tattoos, go out to shows and bars and out to nice restaruants. He pays me what he sees fit. Just smurfing rediculous. So finally he tells me in order for her to get on his insurance, I got to find the nearest base in MN. The closest one is 3 hours away. I don't have the money for gas or time to go there, and going there doesn't even put her on his insurance, just gets her a damn I.D. card to get on his base. THEN he needs to talk to his insurance company.


I'm at a lost, sometimes I just wish I never met him, but then I wouldn't have her. Thanks for reading this dumb little vent...

idk if the Navy insurance is different than Army, but if it's Tricare, all we had to do was file online and then send in his birth certificate and I think his social. The baby never needed a military ID...

I would call his mom and explain to her why her granddaughter doesn't have good health coverage. That should light a fire under his ass

He needs to take her BC and SS card to a DEERS Machine. That's his job. Contact his Chain Of Command? It takes like 10 minutes.

You don't need to take her on base. She needs to be on his dd214 and then you need to print out the paperwork sign it and send it in. It is pretty easy.

If you're not married that's why she needs an ID card. He also needs a DD 1172 and a power of attorney for you to add her to DEERS.

ETA: You also need her BC and Social Security Card. He can't add her to insurance without her being in DEERS.

Not a DD214. That's not related to a kid at all. That's being released from active duty.

Call his base and ask to speak to his command officer. They will get things straightened out quickly. And will give BD smurf for not handling his parental duty.

He's already has her birth certificate and SSC. I believe she may already be on his DEERS. I've tried talking to is mom about this, and all she says is I'm sorry, what do you want me to do about it?

I'm going to be contacting someone soon. It's just so stressful that if DD gets sick I can't even take her to the doc.
