I've never cared what others thought, it's not their baby.

I bf my oldest until he was 3, my middle son until he was 4 and my youngest is still under 1 but he will self wean as well.

If you want to do it then go ahead and do it. I breastfeed until they wean. Our oldest was nearly three years old when she self-weaned. She also breastfed my entire pregnancy with her sister and for few months after her sister was born. As she got older, about two years old, she was only breastfeeding three times, then twice, then once at night, then zero.

I breast fed my last until she was almost 18 months. No reason not to.. she weaned when she was ready. Nothing about turning 12 months made me decide she suddenly couldn't go to breast any more.

I plan to BF as long as I can. DS2 just turned one on Wednesday and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon. I would love to go to 2 or longer unless he weans before then.

The WHO recommends breastfeeding until at least age 2. There are a lot of studies saying that breastfed children are smarter, more well-rounded individuals.

I plan on breastfeeding until AT LEAST 2, unless DS decides he wants to self-wean before that. We will be self-weaning with all of our children.

If you are uncomfortable, you could always pump and give it to him in a cup/sippy.

thank you guys a lot   IDK i just felt odd about it because i feel like everyone looks down on it, but i dont want anymore kids, and i dont just wanna stop at a year because shes a year old, i wanna do it as long as she wants to do it. i just LOVE breastfeeding. i love the bond, i love the feelings that we share together. I just think it's amazing

thats great! my aunt BF all my cousins till they were at LEAST three. they all self weaned

its great but i couldnt produce enough to last that long

Nope. But sometimes I wonder why mothers contuine BFing for the health benefits, then feed their 2 year olds fast food...kinda counter productive. But if both parent and child are still happy breast feeding, then feed away.!
