No weight gain in 3rd trimester, loss instead?

posted 25th Jan
36 weeks, and I haven't gained any weight in the last 4 weeks, instead I've lost about 6 pounds. Baby seems fine, movement etc is all normal. Just thought it was weird because I know this is the time he is supposed to be gaining his baby fat.

He could be gaining weight, its you losing the weight, not baby. Just make sure you ate eating nutritious foods and enough water.

I lost 10lbs in the last 3 weeks of pregnancy and DS came out 9lbs 15oz. So my weight loss did not effect him at all. Its actually very common for women to lose at the end.

Happens all the time. Some woman just lose through the entire pregnancy. If the baby is healthy and your dr doesnt care then it isent an issue.

Good to know - I guess everyone around here just thinks you're supposed to turn into a fat cow or something more so at the end lmao.

I was actually told to lose some weight at that point. I was really swollen and by cutting out pretty much all salt I lost about 5lbs. I ended up gaining almost 75lbs by the end of my pregnancy though. It was mainly water though from being so swollen.

its normal to loose some weight during ur pregnancy if its a lot in a short period of time then i would be worried but with all my pregnancies i lost about 15lbs within the last month and a half. its you loosing the weight not the baby usually if ur loosing the weight the baby is still gaining just not to much at once
