Yeah.   Which is sad... You are suppose to trust police officers...

ETA: The same thing happend with my dad, but they werent real cops. They asked to open his car and roughed him up a little bit.

I'm actually a bit paranoid about being in a vulnerable position like this with authority, so even though I have never had a bit of legal trouble, I have a lawyer's card in my wallet. I figure that way I could say I want my lawyer IF I ever got in a bad situation...and I thought if I had a card on me, they would think I knew what my rights were to some degree & not push me around as much. Not sure how sound my theory is though. Maybe it wouldn't do me a bit of good. I have no clue. I used to do some side work filing for a local lawyer to help them catch up here & there for extra cash (a few times a year for a week or two on evenings) and he told me to do that.

I'm glad the women pulled over & violated were so outspoken. She was loud enough that I heard her say " I just had a finger in my ass & pussy".

The cop says its because someone is a daily smoker in that car. It's still not okay to do a cavity search on the side of the road. Frisk someone yes, but to violate them, that's just smurfed up.

Well, I think bringing a K9 would have been a better indicator of drugs in the car or on their person. If they search the car after the K9 indicates that drugs are present and still find none, then that is when a cavity search would be appropriate.

The officer can claim any smell they like as there is no smell-o-vision,. plus he never clarifies "daily smoker" of what. They were pulled over for tossing a cigarette butt.
