help please

posted 25th Jan
Went to the doctor yesterday and he said if I don't have baby boy before next Thursday (31st) he is going to help me along and possibly induce me. He said the baby is about 7 1/2 - 8 pounds right now and he doesn't want him to get much bigger. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I can try to speed things up? The doctor induced me with my youngest and it was horrible, seemed to hurt to much more than going into labor on my own. Also I have been trying sex and so far its not helping.

I did a lot of walking, bouncing on a birthing ball, walking up and downstairs and drinking raspberry leaf tea which I really believe led to me having a super quick labour, but I was still overdue by 5 days. But nothing will make baby come unless its ready.

That wasn't thoughts. They can't tell how big your baby is accurately enough. Don't trust that. Trust your body and believe in yourself.

Is there a medical necessity to have your baby early? Nothing wrong with having a chunk of a baby, although measurements while still in utero are often incorrect. You can always refuse to get induced. Good luck either way!

So he wants to induce you because baby might be big? Or is there something actually wrong? I'd refuse the induction if its only a weight thing, those measurements can be off.

I am 38 weeks now and I have been dilated and thinned out for about a month now. Also I have gestation diabetes this pregnancy which is one reason the babies weight is a concern. I am actually sitting on a exercise ball as I type.

It doesn't help that I haven't been able to sleep good if at all for about a month now. I am having a lot of issues with my back some of which are making the doctor think he is going to come out face up. I am completely miserable and over being pregnant.

Holy crap we have the same due date, and even though I always feel like I'm about to go, I really don't feel any more progression. Your doctors nuts...Though with the GD I heard of doctors wanting to induce early. Good luck I guess. I always hear how none of the home ideas for speeding birth up work. The best one I've heard so far. Walk. Just keep walking.

Honestly in a way I'm jealous. I'm miserable too it sucks. but that's so strange but like I said the GD makes it less so.

Just refuse the induction if you can. There's no reason for one unless its medically necessary and ultrasound weights can be off. I was scheduled to be induced a day after I went into actual labor and I think that was because I had my membranes stripped, then I had ALOT of sex and walked alot too. I wanted to avoid induction lol, and it worked out for me

He can say that's what he wants to do all day but it's really up to you, docs have this awesome knack to make their patients think they don't have any other choices other then what they say.

As much as I don't want to be induced at the same time I am so tired of being pregnant. Their has been way too much that has happened during this pregnancy that I haven't really been able to deal with because of being pregnant. I hope it doesn't sound selfish to say that but their are some things I have to deal with that I cannot while Im pregnant.

As long as I'm 37 weeks + and baby's healthy, if my doctor suggested inducing I'd go with it. I wouldn't ask though. I'm impatient though. But as long as she suggest's it and I'm at least term. It's not that big a deal to me. Good luck mama   Hope you get through whatever it is you're talking about.
