Slow Cooker
posted 25th Jan
So, I don't own one. I want to pick one up today. I work 12 hours and hubby stays home and is just a sucky cook so I was hoping to get this and have dinners ready for him and all he has to do is turn it on.
Can some of you wonderful ladies give me some tips on the slow cooker.
Do you have to cook meat before adding it to the cooker or can I put them in their raw?
Also, if anyone would like to share some fabulous recipes with me I would greatly appreciate it.

nope you can just add the raw roast in there, whatever veggies, a little bit of hot water, spices, and set on low for 8 hours while youre at work

i find a lot on pinterest, one of my favorites is just putting in 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1/2 a can cherry coke, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 bottle BBQ sauce. let it cook on low for 4 hours, shred the chicken (i use two forks) and then let it cook another hour.
i'm pretty sure you will almost always put the meat in raw, that's why it takes hours. but keeps the meat super moist!

lol no you cook the meat in the slow cooker. You can put a roast in with potatoes and veggies, chicken breasts in a sauce...any kind of chicken, ribs, my favorite is a pork tenderloin with bbq sauce and maple syrup laying on onions cook for 6 hours on hi, at 4 hours pull out and shred then put back in for a cuople...if its longer it dont matter, its kinda hard to overcook it. its yummy!!
