As for me, they are my parents. I'm not going to cut them out of my life, for they are the only parents I have. That is their belief and how they feel and they are allowed to choose that. Me cutting ties with them won't change how they feel, but will change my life immensely. We are allowed to be related and believe different things, and bump heads sometimes, but that's where we differ. I choose to believe my own thing and be open minded.

I guess we just disagree.... I do not want my children to ever think it's okay to accept that kind of behavior and by allowing racist people to be in my life..it says I'm accepting that and that's just awful...I love my.mom and depend on her alot but if I found out today she was racists..I'd be done..My children deserve to be surrounded by better..

My mother would never just spew out anything in front of my kids. I am perfectly content having my mother around her grandchildren. And yes, I suppose that is where we disagree.

Now if my daughter grows up and ends up with someone other than a white man, I am sure she'd come around. It would probably take time. My dad is deceased, so nothing from him.

I am mixed. My grandmother didnt accept black people unitl my mom had my brother and I. Thinking back now..she treated us the same.

My extended family is against interacial dating.

Wow I didn't know race was such an issue still in other places! I am not that surprised but still, that's kinda sad! I'm mixed. My mom is white so her dad was maaaadddd about my dad being a black man. But they have never judged anyone I dated due to race. Eh, I say smurf it and do what makes you happy!

Growing up my mom never cared who I dated but my dad used a lot of racial slurs for people who never did anything but have a different skin color. When my sister and I both started dating Hispanic men, he didn't like it. Now that we both have been with our men for over 2 years and have little mixed babies, it seems like he did a 360. He calls both of our boyfriends his sons and he always talks about how he has the most beautiful brown grandbabies. Even old people set in their ways can change, they just have to want to.

My only serious boyfriends were a different race...but my family doesn't care about that...my Mom would flip if I went after a GIRL....but my Dad...well he prefers to date darker men...so that speaks of him both ways lmao.
My fiance is hispanic and I'm extremely pale white heh...

Tell them its 2013...they need to step out of their ignorance.

My ex in high school was black, his mom was married to a white man so obviously didn't care. His biological father and sister had major issues with it. My dad was very uncomfortable until he saw how well he treated me.
