Strep throat, 3 times!!

posted 24th Jan
Ugh! We got told my daughter has strep throat again, that is 3 times since November! Where does she keep getting it?? No one else in our family has had it once, this is so frustrating   She is almost 4 and had never been on antibiotics before, and now she has had 3 doses since November. I hope she kicks this crap for the last time

Does she go to school? DD started school in August and ever since then we have all been sick. We just can't seem to get over it. I assume DD is bringing this crud home from school because we were never this sick before.

Ugh, yes. She started school this year. Why does this have to happen!? My friend daughter started pre school this year and she has been sick three months straight. When does it stop!

I got it back to back to back for 6 months when I was little. Turns out it was stuck in my sinus cavities. I had surgery to remove my tonsils and drain and cut out windows in my sinus cavities. I haven't had it since.

I was like your daughter when I was younger. I literally got strep throat back to back, about 7 times every 3 months. I wish I was exaggerating. Finally, my parents got tired of it (and I did, too; I was miserable) and asked a pediatrician about removing my tonsils. Dude was WAY against it, and said that he wanted to try a different antibiotic (I had been taking amoxicillan, I think) called Biaxin and BAM. Cleared that smurf up.

Bottom line, I don't mean to scare you, but if she's not consistently getting it from kids, the antibiotics could be just pushing it aside while she's on them, and then when they're out of her system it's all wham bam thank you ma'am.

She went to a new pediatrician today who actually made a point to mention how large her tonsils were and we should keep an eye on those... I hope we don't have to remove them

Omg I wish it would stop! I have disinfected my whole house and washed all bed sheets and comforters, blankets and pillow cases, toys, everything, numerous times but someone in the house is always sick, if not all of us. DD just missed a week and a half of school with the flu and just when she got over it the rest of us got it and on top of having the flu I also have hand foot and mouth disease and that just this week! It's ridiculous! We are miserable and so ready to be done with the sickness.

It could be trapped in her sinus cavities.
