Teething fever?

posted 24th Jan
Last night DS woke up with a fever of about 103. i gave him tylenol and some formula and he went to sleep. this morning when he woke up it was 102, more tylenol and he played. it stayed at around 100 when the tylenol wore off. we just got home and his temp was 103 again, i gave him another dose and a cool bath and the fever broke. he has his 9 month check up tomorrow morning, so i'm not really wanting to jump off and head to the hospital an hour away >.> SO says its from teething, but i always thought teething fevers were low grade.. could this just be from teething??

Seems to high to be from teething but its responding to Tylenol so I'd wait til his check up tomorrow. No need to expose him to all the hospital germs and make him wait there forever if he's being seen in like 18 hours anyway.

seems to be too high. when our temps were high and wouldn't break, our pedi told my mom to give us infant tylenol and infant motrin. since they are different medicines, you can give them both if they need it.

Yep. Just wait two hours between the two.

Both of my girls had fevers up to 104 FROM TEETHING. The doc had me give tylenol, cool baths and cold cloths to break it and watch it like crazy. Felt like they were on fire.

yes. the childrens hospital is like an hour away -.- and his appointment is at 9. he's been normal for the most part, he hasn't been eating as much but he's been drinking more, and the fever. otherwise he plays and he's happy..you can just see it in his eyes though that he doesn't feel good and every 4 hours on the dot he starts cookin again.

i'll try the motrin though, thanks (:
