Is a warm or cool mist humidifier better for baby?

We use a cool mist. I'm not sure if its better but that coupled with some baby vicks and his mattress elevated at an angle helps a lot.

Warm water encourages bacteria growth. I was always told cool mist is best but either way you have to clean it regularly.

Cool mist, it opens up their breathing passages.

I've used both, and personally I like the cool mist...
We have the froggy 1, we got it from target, like 30.00 works like a champ... I'm 27 and use it when I'm sick lol

I prefer the warm. I've tested several and the cheap one from Vicks worked the best. By testing, I mean I let them run and measured the humidity in the air.
Also, Vicks warms the air.
It's so cheap that you can throw it away at the end of cold season and not feel guilty.

My pedi said that it didn't matter either way. By the time they breathe in the air, it will be 98.6 degrees. She suggested cool mist just because kids are more likely to burn themselves on the heating element in warm mist humidifiers.
