birth control.

I have to go to my 6 week PP checkup tomorrow and my midwife is going to want to know what birth control I want to try.. and I honestly don't know. I have only ever been on the depo shot [and I'm not getting that ever again.] and the shot basically put me off of birth control because it messed me up so bad and I was too young to realize it was messing with me. I don't want to have another child for 4-5 years, maybe longer and I wouldn't remember to take the pill every day, and I don't think I'd remember to change a patch or a ring thing out either.. so I'm looking at an implant or an IUD. What are your opinions on the brands [mirena, paragard, implanon, nexplanon w/e.]? I know each woman is different but I'd still like to hear some stories.

Id try the ring. You only take it out for sex and your period. And then after your period you put a new one in.

Really? I thought it was more complicated than that. how far does it need to be in? my cervix is really high up, the midwives had a hard time getting to it lol.

Put it as far back as you can reach.

Mirena made me really crazy, I was also always bleeding or spotting. It took about a week after it was out for me to feel normal again. I have friends who love it though and never had problems with it.

I had the Mirena, and it drove me crazy. So if hormones are crazy for you, try the Paragard! I love it so much and I havent had any complications with it. Implanon can be a pain to take out I hear.

Yea, I think I'm going to try the ring or the paragard first and if they don't work I'm going to try the implanon. I'd hate to get a stick shoved under my skin and it end up messing with me and I'd have to get it taken out right away y'know? I'm just not sure which, since Jordan agrees with me that I will probably forget the ring is even up there and I'd miss a few days when I'm supposed to take it out.. I'm super bad at remembering smurf like that, but who knows, it sounds super easy and I heard it can help clear up acne too lol. I've never had something like that so I MAY remember it.. I'll just put up notes all over the place so I remember lol.

Plus I'm kinda scared to get one of the IUD's though because of Tess, her Mirena had to get surgically removed from her stomach lining D:
