This is Paula Dean's son. This chili is so freaking good. I ended up freezing half of the recipe and it was delicious the 2nd time around too. :-)

I don't have the sausage or beer, I'm sure it would be okay without though?

We are having chili today that I made yesterday in the crock pot   Here is my recipe

2 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
29 ounce can of tomato sauce
29 ounce can of pinto beans
29 ounce can of kidney beans
1 can of rotel for spice (we used original but it can vary by how hot you want it)
1 can of crushed tomatoes (I used the basil flavored ones)
1/2 cup minced dried onion
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon each of cumin, salt and pepper

It's really good, but it's probably lazy person chili since so much of it came from a can lol. I've made it before from "scratch" (well, with real tomatoes, peppers and onion lol) but it takes so long

ETA- forgot to say you drain the beans. Also, I cooked it on low about 8 hours

2lbs ground beef
32oz tomato puree
2 cans chili beans (or red beans)
1 Cup of elbow noodles
Salt, pepper, chili powder

Brown the beef and put in a large pot.
Start boiling the elbow noodles in a separate mid-sixed pot until they are done.
Add tomato puree to the beef in large pot, bring to a simmer. Add the beans, noodles, salt, pepper, and chili powder to taste. (I LOVE Mexene chili powder, but it's an acquired taste. McCormick is better to most people)
Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Serve with saltine crackers if desired!

I don't remember using the beer, but I did use the sausage and it was yummy! I'm sure it would still be great without it, but you may want to add more beef to suppliment for it.

I use about 2lbs ground beef
4 or 5 cans of kidney beans (I usually use half and half of the light red and dark red) (drained)
2 cans of chili beans
1 can of diced tomatoes (drained)
1 can of tomato paste
and 1 large can of tomato juice...
probably half an onion
and chili powder of course
*If you cook the hamburger with some worchesterchire sauce it makes it taste even better   and I cook it with salt, pepper and garlic powder

Okay so it's absolutely delicious! I used a mix of my own initiative and all you ladies' recipes, with limitations of what I have in haha. I put in these absolutely delicious 'La Costena' canned chipotle chillis in adobo sauce, and they've lifted the flavor sooo much, yum!
