Grandma vent

posted 24th Jan
Yes I know my gma has good intentions but she is constantly just dropping off stuff that I don't need. Like she dropped off plates and cups that I Have NOOOO room what so freaking ever for. Then today she dropped off a sack of potatoes. WTf am I going to do with that since I just bought a bag last night and it lasts us a month? Then on top of all that she is pushing me to go to this freaking food bank. 1) I don't have time to do that. 2) Who is going towatch the kid while I do that and 3) How the hell am I going to get up there and back with the kids and the food if I were to go up there. I get food stamps cuz I'm broke as smurf and that gets us more than enough food for the month plus if I have any left over for the month I buy some can goods for the food bank. Like wtf?!?!?

I said I knew she meant well. It just frustrates me. There are people here in this community that make too much for assistance but could still use the food bank. Why would I take that from somebody else?

Maybe ask her to donate that stuff to a local food bank or church that helps people out? It's a nice gesture, but I totally know what you mean. My grandpa does the same stuff when he visits lol

sounds like my gramma. She thinks she is my baby father. SHe means well though and she treats my daughter someas her own. but she is so annoying sometimes especially when she tries to over ride my decisions when it comes to my daughter. so yeah I know how you feel but its good to have someone in your corner.

now thats just mean and uncalled for but im not going to get into it with you. i wish i still had my grandparents. i would trade them giving me stuff to try to help me out over not having them her at all. like i said before if you dont need it you can donate it you said you donate anyway so whats the big deal just donating what they give you its not like its a extra drive for you. or maybe you can also just try to sit down and talk to her. your just a ungreatful person. but you wont see that till they pass and for your sake i hope its not for many many many years.

I have tried to sit down with her. I'm not ungreatful. I even said I knew she had the best intentions. And it wasn't mean and hateful would you want to go through 35 years of stuff piled up through out a whole entire house.....I didn't think so. And to donate stuff I would have to take it to the church which is an extra ways for me whereas if I buy stuff at the store they have a drop box for cangoods. I don't have a car anyways so to haul the stuff to the church would be impossible especially with a 2 yr old and 4 yr old.

Have you ever looked up gooddonor.org for donations in your area? I never have the time to drop stuff off anywhere and you can sign up and have it picked up from your house so you don't have to haul anything anywhere.

It says there are no pick up dates in my area.   Seriously I live int he middle of fields.   There is nothing here besides a few churches, 3 stores, and gas stations.
