As soon as he was PT'd[a little after 3]. He pees completely alone but he wants me to sit with him while he poops and wipe his butt. But he regressed for awhile, pooping in his pants, until recently so I had to start all over again...so I still sit with him.

I tell Sera to bend over.

Yep, I worked at a The Goddard School daycare in the toddler room and that is what they did there as well, and we did it every hour on the hour, unless a parent requested otherwise, and the miniature bathroom was attached to the room and another class room so they could use it too. Its not that hard to do potty time when you know what you're doing with multiple kids, ratio was 7 kids to 1 teacher or 14 to 2 teachers.

So am I training all wrong?...

This is how our normal day goes.

I put him in undies right when he wakes up. He usually pees in his night time diaper before we get to that point. I ask him about every 20-30 minutes if he has to go and he usually says no. I watch his drink intake and ask more frequently if he's had about a cup or two. He still usually says no. My cue to bring him to the bathroom is he says "Mommy, I have a diaper." and then I say "No, you're wearing undies you have to pee on the potty." and then he'll go.

I always make him go before we leave the house or before he lays down for a nap. But he's so scared about peeing in the bed (I have no idea why) that he begs for a diaper during nap/bed time.

We've been "introducing" potty time for about a year now and he still doesn't tell me "Mom, I have to pee" or just walks into the bathroom himself.

Should I just put him in the undies, ask every so often, and let him tell me? I feel that he would hold his pee forever if I didn't bring him in there. He turned 3 in November.

My LO turned 3 in October and we started potty training at the end of this last November and he will go in by himself. I rarely even ask him if he has to go because he will always say no. And I think he gets annoyed when we keep asking and will hold it longer, lol. He will just be playing and all of sudden say I have to peepee on the potty! and he'll run to the bathroom. Then he'll ask me if I'm coming, lol. I just say "Pull your pants down and sit on the potty and I'll be there in a minute". I don't even always go in there unless he poops. He still can't pull his pants up yet though. And he's in pull ups over night, sometimes for naps if he hasn't pooped in a while and I worry.

Roland tries to pull up his pants but he gets so pissed because he pulls them from the legs instead of the waist. So I end up having to do it for him. I've recently introduced him standing to pee instead of sitting and he seems more into it now. He thinks he's just like Daddy.

But over all this time he still refuses to poop on the potty. He has had poop issues since he was a baby and it's hard for him to even go in a diaper. He tells me when he's trying though and I just put a diaper on him until he's done, or he will wait until it's nap/bed time and go. If I stopped putting diapers on for poop he would hold it for over a week, literally. Even now he goes every 2-3 days and that's with Miralax every day.

I feel you on the poop issues. Kay held it in for 30 days and we had to go to the hospital.   We used a ton of miralax, and did everything we could. We cut out cows milk and switched to almond milk....she's like a different person. Every now and then it'll happen again, but it is so much better.

I was so scared that my LO would hold his poop. A friend of mine with a son a bit older than mine had that trouble where he would hold it for days because he didn't want to go on the potty. Thank god we have not had that issue.

OMG!

We still see a GI doc and he never mentioned anything about switching milk. He said cut down on whole milk (because he was drinking like 20+ oz. per day) but never switching it. I'm definitely going to try that!
