DS was PT'd at 26/27 months he's started going alone at around 30 months I'd say. I help him sometimes but for the most part he goes alone.

What's the best way to wipe their butts after a poo? I've been using a baby wipe and having him bend over my knee, lol. How do you teach them to do it without them getting poo on their hands?

I make him lift his leg and just use toilet paper. But SO taugh DS the ins and outs of wiping and such and he does a pretty good job. He wipes from front to back.

It was really easy.
they were not fully trained till 16 and 18 months, for day and night time. But I started on their first birthdays. every 40 min and 10-15 min after they ate, only used panties on them till night time. and so on. being consitant and them understanding is really important.

So, they weren't trained at 12 months. You just started at 12 months.

How'd you be consistent when you were working? Because you haven't always been a SAHM, right?

Sounds more like you were trained, not them.

No, I wasnt always at home. I used to work nights from 10pm till 6am.
Before this job (I still have but havent gone back yet) lol
And they did on and off in daycare, which daycare also followed the wishes of parents.

But yes I started at 12 months, they did well for day time, and at 16 months for my oldest and 18 months for my youngest is when they did good at night time. No more night time pullups.

If you have to bring them to the bathroom at certain times everyday in order for them to use the bathroom, then you are trained not them.

You got lucky with a day care that did that then. I imagine it would be hard to take a baby to the bathroom every 40 minutes and watch other kids

No, its procedure. Toddler rooms have schedualed bathroom breaks, for those who are training their kids. Parents can opt out of potty training till 2, but no one does that. IRL everyone I know kids are potty trained by 2 yrs of age anyways. Its normal here. lol

All the kids line up and they use the bathroom, its opened concept with 2 toilets side by side with just a half door, and they go in 2 at a time etc.....

Um lets see, how to ppl get their kids to use the bathroom??? Oh by bringing them to the bathroom. Once they know how to use it, then they go off on their own or tell you when they need to go.

I didn't personally train my daughter using a timer method, it would have driven me crazy. I let her wear underwear around the house and explained that when she felt the pee start to come, we'd run to the potty. So, she'd start to go and we'd sprint to the potty. She'd finish there and we'd celebrate. It started to just "click" that when she got that particular sensation, she needed to run to the potty. And then, ta-da, trained!

I really don't care how you trained them, if the timer method works for people I don't care, but we did something different.

Thats how my kids were trained too. I tried the timer method, but smurf didnt work. Really I think it was more the kids werent ready at that age to potty train.
