Need help & opinions on repeat c sec

My OBGYN is on maternity leave & in scheduled for a repeat c section with her on feb 18th. At my last appt (with a different dr, I've been seeing whoever is available which irritates me in itself) the nurse made a comment about me wing my drs first c section when she gets back from her maternity leave & the more I think about it the more upset I get. What happens if she has complications & doesn't make it back to work when she hopes to? I have 3 appts left and I have requested a dr that I really like and I'm not sure if I should ask her to do my c section? Be my back up plan? Cancel mine & schedule with her? What would you do? I'm lost & after a traumatic birth experience with my son I just want things to go as planed. We have family coming in town and I'm just stressed :-/

Do you not want a c-section? You know you could always try for a vbac. I'm not too sure if you can switch doctors this far in the pregnancy, I could be wrong tho. When I had my last c-section my doctor was on vacation and made it back in time to deliver my son. Trust me, she'll be back in time. She gets paid a lot to do c-sections. ;) But if it makes you feel any better you can always ask if the doctor you like will perform the c-section. Anywho, Good luck and congrats on the baby.

I'm totally fine with the c section, I've been told that I don't qualify for a vbac because of my incision & having a previous emergency c section. I had a lot of issues with healing & I had popped stitches etc. Im going to talk to the dr I like next appt and see what she suggests. I'm not sure if my dr doesn't show up if they just give me whoever is available or I don't get my c section that day?

I understand your apprehension. I would definitely talk to other Dr about doing it. Especially if that's the Dr, you'll see at your last few appts.

I definitely will thank you! It's a relief that someone en understand where I'm coming from lol. My husband thinks I'm stressing out for no reason but after last time I'm just freaking out. (My dr was on vacation when I had my son, other on suggested being induced and I was completely uneducated about it and went along with it and ended up with a horrible 29hr labor, an epidural that didn't take, no progression, cleared for c section & when they have me the spinal it paralyzed my diagram & I flat lines on the table so I just want things to go ok this time)
