does a cell phone ring if your on the internet?

if someone is using the internet on their phone and a person calls what happens? does it go to voicemail? will it ring?? my SO took his dads phone and took off last night i dont know where he is and every time i try to call the phone it rings 2 times and then goes to voicemail. i know that if the phone was off it would go straight to voicemail right?? so either he is forwarding the calls or could he be on the internet? he could be forwarding them BUT every person who has tried calling it goes to voicemail EXACTly after 2 rings.. so im sure if he was just forwarding them hed let them ring or it would be ringing diff times... btw the cell phone is a net 10

It sounds like the phone has no service. Using data wouldn't interfere with receiving phone calls.

i know hes being shady its bullsmurf. im highly pissed about it i dont know why hed go this far.. this is the 2nd time in our 3 yr relationshp hes EVER done this.. and thats what i was thinking that he has to be exiting the calls. we were arguing and he just took off and took his dads phone last time he did this he went to the neighbors but she said he wasnt there.. unless shes lieing IDK where the hell he is. hes been gone since smurfing 10 pm and its 1030am.................... wnt answer my calls or text and no one elses either..

Still rings. Maybe he's phone isn't getting enough signal or he's sending you to voicemail.

1 time is too many. Let alone 2. And he's clearly lying about going to the neighbors.

Grown men don't leave for days when they argue. I'd be packing his smurf and leaving it on the porch.

hes not on drugs that i know of......... and yes we were arguing BUT hes never went this far before.. last week he did this we were arguing and he just took off it was at like 10am though and he came home at 6 because i went to the neighbors and thats where is was i went to the same neighbors last night its an elder woman and she said he wasnt there but her room door was shut so he coulda been sleeping in there and she could have been covering for him because she acted kinda weird.. im freaking out over everything im pregnant and i dont know why he would just take off . i dont know if hes cheating i mean he could be hes really sneaky and lies bout stuff but the signs arent there.. we still have sex every day he doesnt act any distant to me besides this obviously lol. i mean 2 days ago we were lookin at rings online -.- because he wanted too find me a ring with all our birthstones and names SO IDKKKKKKKKKK wht the hell is going on
