exhausted

posted 24th Jan
Holy crap...I'm so exhausted. Like to the point where all I want to do is cry. DS won't freaking sleep. The past few nights he's up every like 2 hours (pedi confirmed he's teething at his 4 month well baby yesterday) ans he will only sleep if I'm holding him. So of course, I sleep like smurf because I can't sleep with him by me, I'm too aware and paranoid to sleep. I just...ugh. I want sleep.

I can't get to sleep until 7am every morning. Its been like this for a week. I've even tried staying up instead of going to sleep at 7 but it didn't work

Are you keeping him medicated (like with Tylenol)? That should at least help him feel comfortable enough to fall asleep for a bit. No?

No I haven't but I'm going to try tonight if he does the same thing. His pedi said I could if I wanted but I wanted to hold off.

I would just give it to him. It's pretty harmless and I think it's the humane thing to do for him... why not take some of the pain away if you can?

No I agree, but he got shots yesterday and his pedi said if I could hold off for 24 hours that would be better.

Oh ok! Just curious why your pedi would tell you to hold off on the drugs after shots? We always give Tylenol just before the shot and as needed afterwards. My husband is a doc and that's what he suggested, as did our pedi. Now I sound like a crazy drug-pusher... haha! Just curious.

Haha no you don't. His pedi said to give it if he needs it absolutely, but if you hold on it'll help the vaccines be more effective, like their immune system will be better. But then again he also said its not that big of a deal, so I guess I could've just given him the Tylenol lol.

Oh cool. I've never heard that! Well good luck to you. Mine have been sick with their first cold and it's the worst!! I'm so exhausted! Hope they all feel better soon.

if you want to hold off on tylenol you could try teething tablets...they help my ds so much when he is teething.
