Cigarette!
posted 24th Jan
Okay so before I got pregnant, I smoked a pack a day. I had been smoking for almost 5 years. Well when I found out I was pregnant I quit, cold turkey, because I was scared of having another miscarriage. I always blamed myself for my last one, since I didn't quit right away. But back to the point. Since I had my daughter the urge to smoke has been tremendous! The past couple days it's been so hard to fight of the urge, since my nerves have been so bad. It doesn't help that 3 people that live in my house smoke. They do it outside though. I'm only breast feeding once or twice a day now. I guess what I'm wondering is, if I smoke a cig every once in a blue moon, just to take the edge off, how long should I wait to breast feed again? I don't want it passing to her. Sorry it's long lol TIA!

Wait an hour, that's what the nurse at the hospital told me

Let me tell you, from personal experience! Don't do i t! But it will slow down your supply and go to her.. when I went back to smoking I waited 2-3 hours before nursing. I'm NOT going back this time.

And do it outside, come in and shower and wash your clothes before touching your baby. Adults smoking in the home increases the risk of SIDS 3 or 4 times.

Smoke an electric cigarette.

Yeh the ecigs are WAY better and it gets rid of the increased chances of SID thing quite a bit, you still need to wait a bit because you are still ingesting nicotine but you don't have to worry about the second hand smoke or the smell on your, and they end up being way cheaper in the long run.
