re: four months and smoking again...

Maybe try lollipops? I've heard a few people say that it helped. Keeping their hands/mouth busy on something. I personally have no idea, I've never smoked lol

Then stop. Or not. Its truly up to you.

I smoked out of habit too,(smoked about 5 a day) the way I quit was I told myself when I bought another pack that it was going to be my last one and I just kept telling myself that. When I got down to like 3 cigs left, I only smoked half of those or less, and when they were gone that was it. I had urges for a few days but never gave in, and just distracted myself. Good luck to you!

Yes, keeping your hands busy, especially in social situations, helps a lot.

Are you aware that it illegal to smoke in your car with a minor. You have a little boy... you should not allow him to smoke in your home. Second hand smoke is more dangerous. (Not trting to bash you)

I've actually brought that up to DH we don't usually smoke in the car with him... but I did bring it up to DH the other day that second hand smoke isn't any better than me smoking myself. :\

Try using cinnamon sticks as "cigarettes". Or, as weird as it sounds, suck on a pacifier.

I smoked for 13 years or more.. I stopped cold turkey to help me get pregnant. you can do this.. anytime you wanna smoke pause for a minute think about it... if you still want one after a brief pause, go for a walk or do somethin that will tmake your mind of em till yahoo craving passes

Keep yourself busy after meals and sex. These are the two most common times to take a cig break.

Keep some starlight mints and chocolate (dark works best) close by and try to eat a few and drink some water instead of reaching for the cigarettes.

Get a reusable cup with a straw. When you want a cigarette, drink some water or OJ or chocolate milk. The action of sucking through a straw has the same effect as drawing on a cigarette.

Have something for your hands. A lot of picking up those cigarettes comes from being bored or fidgety.

Figure out how much money you spend a month on cigarettes. Think of something nice you can buy for yourself or the baby with that money.

ETA:
Also stock up on Bananas. They, like chocolate (again, dark is best) and orange juice, have been shown to curb nicotine cravings and even decrease their frequency.

Still smoking in the home and cars with young children.. a big no no. As an adult you're aloud to do what you want, but that is abuse.
